Assess your Refinery and Gas Plant.

1. Performance Evaluations and Guarantees

Are each of the Claus units (reaction furnace/waste heat boiler, condensers, reactors/converters, reheaters, coalescer), Super Claus units, Tail Gas Clean-up Units (TGCU= SCOT, BSR, Stretford, Sulfreen, CBA, MCRC, DOXO-Sulfreen, Clinsulf, etc.) and the thermal/catalytic incinerators achieving their optimal performance? If not, what are the problems and how are they rectified? Who is the “on-site” problem solver?

2. Shutdown and Start-up Assistance

What changes should be made during the limited time the plant is down (e.g. change out converter catalyst, replace reaction furnace burner, install sampling locations, repair tube sheet, replace refractory etc.) to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant and/or entire facility after the SRU is brought back on line? Who is the “on-site” problem solver during start-up? Time is Money!

3. Performance Guarantee Testing and SRU Commissioning

Is the sulfur plant in question achieving the recovery efficiency guaranteed by the engineering contractor? If not, why? What corrective action will be necessary? Who is responsible?

4. Environmental Concerns

Is the SRU achieving the necessary overall recovery efficiency that is stated in the facility’s design specifications, operating license and/or government regulations? If not, what are the reasons and what steps need to be taken for corrective action?

5. Who is responsible?
