We are Hiring - Development Engineer

SRE is looking for a motivated and innovative problem solver to provide assistance to lead engineers in support of projects and field services offered by SRE to industrial clients world-wide in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.

As SRE has both local and international clients, this role requires 50-60% of the time to be travelling.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist team leader to conduct SRU and Amine Unit Performance Tests nationally and internationally

· Basic understanding and knowledge of the Claus Process

· Basic understanding and knowledge of amine-based absorption & regeneration

· Proactive participation in office chalk-talks

· Basic knowledge of Gas Plants and Refineries

· Warehouse and equipment management

· Ensure equipment is complete, in good operation and clean

Project Preparation

· Pre-project meetings/calls with clients

· Review on-site equipment and chemical needs with team leader

· Assist with shipping preparation

· Assist with equipment preparation and pre-job checklists

· Obtain safety training

Project Tasks

· Abide by and promote all safety procedures – Client’s & SRE’s

· Ensure appropriate communication around client engineers and operators

· Demonstrate basic knowledge of the determination, preparation and collection of all necessary process gas and liquid samples

· Evaluate various liquid amine & reflux water samples to determine the operation of the amine unit for corrosion, loading, and foaming

· Prepare travel reports for each project

· Assist in SRU and Amine Unit Performance Evaluations

· Assist clients with Startups and Shutdowns

Competencies/Skills

· Basic knowledge of SRU and Amine Unit processes

· Ability to work effectively with others as part of a small field service team

· Proficient in written & spoken English

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Organized and able to adapt quickly to change

· Quick learner with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Motivated and takes initiative

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline

· 0 – 2 years of engineering experience

· Clean Class 5 Drivers License

· Able to travel domestically and internationally

· Valid Canadian Passport

Preferred:

· 1 – 2 years of experience in Amine or Sulfur Recovery Units

· Registered as EIT with APEGA

· Safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, TDG and Fall Protection

· Able to read and follow PFDs and P&IDs

· Other languages are beneficial
