Meet your Instructors

The SRE Sulfur Recovery and Amine Training Seminar will be led by Elmo Nasato-an engaging speaker and expert in the field.

Elmo Nasato is a process engineer specializing in sulfur recovery, amine treating, and sour water processing. He has over 30 years of experience in the sulfur recovery industry, including experience with design, retrofit, start-up, and optimization of sulfur recovery units, sulfur handling units, amine units, sour water stripper units, and tail gas cleanup units. On-site field activities have included construction activities, turnaround assistance, and Operator training.

Elmo graduated from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, with a B.A.Sc. Chemical Engineering (1987) with an option in Management Science. He is currently the lead instructor and moderator for the Brimstone Vail Sulfur Recovery Symposium. He has served on the Board of Directors for Alberta Sulfur Research and the Technical Advisory Committee for the Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference. Elmo has also taright courses in the Chemical Engineering departments of the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo. He has been awarded eight patents for SRU operation, oxygen enrichment, and sulfur degassing technologies. Additionally, he has published 42 papers on topics across the sulfur recovery industry and has made over 73 presentations at conferences worldwide.

Elmo Nasato

Bob Veroba is a seasoned process engineer with extensive expertise in sulfur recovery, gas treating, and refining. He brings over 30 years of industry experience, including client troubleshooting, optimization, and process design using simulation tools like Protreat® and Promax®. Bob’s technical focus spans sulfur recovery units, amine units, and tail gas treatment units, with a proven track record in plant troubleshooting and process simulation.

Bob graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (1986). He has held key engineering roles at Sulfur Recovery Engineering, Huntsman Corporation, and Shell Canada, providing engineering design, technical support, and commercial oversight in gas treating operations across Canada and the Northwest US. His on-site work includes commissioning, start-up, and operator training for gas plants and refineries, as well as managing multi-million-dollar plant shutdowns.

Throughout his career, Bob has been actively involved in the Canadian Gas Processors Association and the Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference, where he has served as an Advisory Committee Member since 2014 and Program Chairman for the 2018 conference. He has also presented several papers, including topics on diglycolamine solvent improvement and gas sweetening fundamentals.

Inshan Mohammed

Inshan Mohammed, P.Eng. is a Principal Process Engineer specializing in sulfur recovery with over 15 years of industry experience. He has led Sulfur Recovery Engineering (SRE)’s field teams and assisted clients worldwide, managing projects at over 60 sites. Inshan’s expertise spans front-end design, detailed engineering, and integrating digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Fluent in English and French, he also serves as an instructor for SRE’s operator and engineer training seminars.

Inshan's work emphasizes reducing emissions and fostering carbon reduction, ensuring that SRE’s processes exceed industry standards. His current focus is on shaping the Operations Team for the MENA region, guiding National Oil Companies (NOCs) in advancing environmental stewardship and technological growth.

He will be moderating the Dubai course, ready to answer any questions and provide insights based on his extensive experience.
